About Silver Gelatin Prints: Dating back to 1871, this is the most long-lasting method of producing black & white prints. and today the same process of coating a substrate ( fiber paper) with a silver-gelatin emlusion is used to create a true, neutral tone for black and white photos graph. No dyes are used as with other modern black and white printing, rather the light from the image is exposed to the coated, light-sensitive paper. It is the gold standard for black and white photography, and the only method I use!
